are you landscaping?

This is for you and many others!
My bones are crunchy, when I stretch, they click, my muscles are tired all the time and my joints ache – what’s wrong with me?
How is this happening to me – what does the sound come from?
- Synovial fluid – freely moving joints like your knuckles and spine are surrounded by a capsule filled with synovial fluid. This fluid acts as lubricant and supplies nutrients to the joints. In turn this reduces friction between the bones.
- Joint Stretching – When you apply force to the joint the joint capsule is stretched. this creates a decrease in pressure in the joint.
- Gas release – this drop in pressure between the bones causes gas (mainly nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide) in the synovial fluid to form bubbles. It causes a release when the bubbles pop …. which is why it feels soo goood, the sound however can be disturbing for others and worrying for some.
Is this bad?
- Typically, no! Studies show that joint cracking isn’t harmful in moderation, but excessive or forceful manipulation might lead to soft tissue damage or joint issues. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine a little tension release is a good thing, as long as it’s not overdone!
Why is this happening to me – what is it?
- Joint movement
- Gas between joints
- Gas bubbles popping
How does that relate to me?
- You don’t need to worry about your joints crunching and clicking
- If you have discomfort, pain or feel your joints click too much there could be something else going on.
- Management of surgery, pain or injury is just as important as self-care.
- You’re hoping to be here a long time, your health is important to you, and you want to make the most of it!
Why do I have discomfort and pain?
- Muscles, Ligaments & Tendons; when we are knotted up, stiff and tense our joints tend to crunch and there can be discomfort or pain. The muscle fibers can be a tangled mess.
- Fascia that are thin and damaged by lack of water and hydration can cause stiffness. Old liquids, like a sponge that has not been squeezed for a while, stagnate here when we don’t move.
- Weight and underlying causes could also be causing you discomfort such as an injury
How come this is relieved when I click?
- Gas release feels good, it also alleviates pressure. Your stiff muscles or dehydrated fascia could be impacting your joints.
Am I doing something to cause this!
- Slouching / excessive device use
- Working
- Pushing your body beyond its physical limits on a regular basis
- You’re not practicing selfcare and have tangled muscle fibers, knots or dried out tendons
- Your dehydrated, dehydrated or damaged fascia that need water and some Yin Yoga
